The film was acted out as an improvisation and was shot entirely in chronological order. The actors were not even given call-sheets in order to increase the film's sense of unknowing and the improvisational style.

At the time, Director of Photography, Dewald Aukema explained: "The film is very versatile, as there is no strict script. It is interesting that anything could happen in a particular take, it's really up to the actors how they develop the scene and their characters"
