The Solana holiday resort in Spain welcomes a regular group of British holiday makers each year.

They include enthusiastic middle-aged swingers Jacqueline and Donald; snobby Kate and Martin Weedon; Lancashire's pub quiz champion Geoff 'The Oracle' Maltby and his mum; Gay couple Gavin and Troy; and the loud Garvey family.

Our Review: We initially disliked this ITV1 all-star ensemble piece when it was first broadcast in 2007, but over time it has grown into a very likeable programme. Benidorm is by no means a classic, but it's not terrible either and now acts as a very enjoyable way to spend half-an-hour.

The extended eight episode second series contained a couple of particularly good episodes that really impressed us. All indicators suggest a third series will follow...

With the latest series bringing ITV big ratings (to everyone's surprise Benidorm managed to hold on to its audience despite BBC1 scheduling My Family and then HIGNFY against it), and the fact the show managed to gain the broadcaster its first comedy BAFTA nomination for some time, ITV would be daft not to give it a third series!
