Henry Duckworth from Twickenham is on a camping holiday in the Alps with his wife, Ethel. His British stiff upper lip and fortitude are called in to action when the cable car they are travelling in comes to a sudden halt. Someone has to keep the passengers cheerful and he determines it to be his job ... as an Englishman.

Our Review: Shown as the opening episode of the Galton and Simpson Playhouse presentations, this comedy was a wonderful example of the work of both the writers and the star. Arthur Lowe gave his now familiar performance of the pompous Englishman but with the added bonus of being trapped in a confined space with, shock horror, a German!

This show was broadcast as ITV's tribute to the star when he died in 1982.
