Freezing - Series 1 (DVD)

Elizabeth, played by Elizabeth McGovern (Buffalo Soldiers, Once Upon a Time in America) is an American Oscar-nominated actress who was discovered by Robert Redford and starred alongside A-listers like Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Robert De Niro. That was then.
Her husband of ten years, Matt (Hugh Bonneville - Miss Austen Regrets, Notting Hill), isn't having much luck either; he has just been replaced by his assistant at the publishing firm he has worked at for 15 years. As a result - and for the first time in their marriage - Matt and Elizabeth now have to spend their days together at home. Domestic tensions quickly follow as the pair undertake varied (and frequently desperate) attempts to re-launch themselves - all the while fighting off the growing realisation that they are no longer perceived as young and desirable.

Our Review: In our opinion, Freezing was the funniest series to premiere in 2008 by quite a long way. A very, very funny sitcom which we highly recommend - particularly Tom Hollander's spectacular performance as agent Leon.
