All Quiet on the Preston Front examines the lives of a group of Northern Territorial Army members. It particularly focuses on their personal lives and explores universal themes such as parenthood, dating, job seeking and family responsibilities.

Our Review: Upon being first broadcast in 1994, All Quiet on the Preston Front immediately attracted many admirers due to its intelligent writing, strong characterisation and fine ensemble cast. Three series of the show were made, and by the time the last episode aired in 1997, it had already been nominated for, and won, several awards.

In the years since the making of Preston Front (as the last two series were simply called), the show has continued to be held in high esteem by many. The cult following it now has, has led to each series being issued on DVD. The show has not dated and its themes remain timeless.
